Marking one of the bigger surprise additions to the SSBU character roster, King K Rool is sure to become a fan favorite. The character is a nice departure from other fighters in the series, and is one of the few totally new characters being added in Ultimate. But you’ve got to unlock him to use him. We’ve explained how best to unlock all characters in SSBU, but there are faster ways to get individual characters ready for use. King K Rool is one of the easier ones too, so how do you do it? As that guide says, completing Classic Mode with specific characters will unlock other characters. For King K Rool you just need to do this with Link. Luckily, Link is a default character, so you can get this one done pretty quickly. Just load up Classic Mode and choose Link, then finish the fight and you’ll get to challenge King K Rool to add him to your roster.
Alternatively, you can stick with the World of Light method of unlocking everyone. If that’s your choice then King K Rool will take a little longer. He is unlocked in the Mysterious Dungeon in the World of Dark near Risky Boots’ spirit. But that is definitely not the best way to do it, so try the Classic Mode option first.
