Bandai Namco has just announced at the Tekken Finals today that it is releasing Tekken 7 Fated Retribution. This is a new version of the game that features Akuma and more.

Mad Catz’s Mark Julio tweeted: “TEKKEN 7 FATED RETRIBUTION coming soon. Akuma featured as a playable character. New Characters. New Outfits. Graphic Upgrade! #TEKKENFINALS

He later tweeted that the reason Akuma is not featured in Street Fighter 5 because he’s in Tekken 7. Hopefully more information comes out because Akuma is a Street Fighter character. You normally don’t see a character like that in a Tekken game outside of Street Fighter X Tekken of course.

The reason Akuma is an interesting choice is because he uses projectiles. Only some Tekken characters use projectiles, but not all of them. Akuma may seem overpowered, but let’s wait until we play the game to make any proper judgments on that.

Tekken 7 Fated Retribution is an upgraded version of the vanilla original arcade version that was out earlier this year. It’s possible this upgraded version is what the consoles will receive. This is a good thing as console owners will get all of the new characters and better graphics.

How do you feel that Akuma will be featured in a Tekken game instead of Street Fighter 5?
