Naughty Dog is keeping details under wraps about their upcoming game The Last of Us, but a recent interview with one of the actors for the game’s main character claims that they’re taking an uncoventional approach.  Troy Baker, who plays Joel, describes the character as a survivor in a recent interview with Edge Magazine.  More importantly, the voice actor is “impressed” with the direction that Naughty Dog is taking with the main characters of the game.

“I think we’ve seen the model of the character change dynamically over the last several years,” Baker says.  “Before it was Marcus Fenix from Gears of War – still a great protagonist, a great hero, but people don’t relate that well to him anymore.  That’s not what we’re going for.”

When The Last of Us releases, you may recognize Baker as the voice of  Two Face from Batman: Arkham City, as well as Booker from Bioshock: Infinite.  The Last of Us has a tentative release date of holiday 2012/early 2013 exclusively on the PS3.
