Nintendo’s official webpage for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC Pack 1 has revealed the file size for the upcoming expansion. While this first pack doesn’t add in any new story content, it does bring a new difficulty mode, new gear, and more. So the 456MB file size on Nintendo Switch fits with expectations. However, the Wii U version is quite a bit larger, coming in at 3.7GB.

This is pretty important for the subset of players that are sticking with Breath of the Wild on Wii U. That console never had a huge hard drive, so downloads are quite limited, unless you add an SD card or external hard drive. If you have a bunch of digital games of DLC already on your Wii U then you’ll likely want to make sure you have space available for the June 30th release.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been heralded as one of the greatest games of all time. Two DLC expansions are coming, the latter with new story content for fans to dive into. Nintendo has been dabbling more and more with DLC lately, and they often hit it out of the park. We’ll have to wait and see how this new expansion does once it arrive on Switch and Wii U on June 30th.
