These Game Saving Rocket League Goals will Blow Your Mind

If you haven’t heard already, Rocket League is a great game. Part of that greatness is its propensity to generate epic and game-changing plays. Teams can be down by 2-3 points with just 10 seconds left, and yet, the game isn’t over. Pulling off these last minute saves is some of the most enjoyable gaming moments of 2015, so when you see one it’s always enjoyable to watch.

Two Redditors shared a couple of these moments, and they are really some of the best I’ve ever seen. In case you aren’t familiar with the rules, let me set up a few things for you. In both cases the teams are down 0-1, with little time left on the clock. They need to score a goal to send the game to overtime, or it’s all over. Thankfully, Rocket League has a neat trick for the end of the game.

As long as the ball doesn’t touch the floor the clock doesn’t tick to 0. You can hit the ball with your car, let it hit the wall, or even the curves at the bottom of the wall, but the game won’t end until you either score a goal, or let it touch the ground. This usually means you get a second or two of extra time to try to nudge the ball into the goal, but these guys took it a step further.

Starting off with Conalmcl9’s self-described “game tying, last second, full pitch dribble.”

Not to be outdone, fellow Redditor Tolinko responded by saying “I see your ‘Full Pitch Dribble’ and raise you a game saving balancing act.”

Rocket League is available now for PS4 and PC.
