Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End To Get Beautiful Looking Multiplayer Maps

by Damian Seeto

It looks like Naughty Dog is very interested in making the multiplayer maps in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End look just as good as the single player levels.

Naughty Dog has listed several positions on its official careers website. One of the more interesting positions is for a “Multiplayer Level Layout Artist”.

This person has several responsibilities in order to make the multiplayer maps in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End look great. It appears Naughty Dog wants the multiplayer mode to feel and look as meaningful as the single player campaign.

Check out the responsibilities for the Multiplayer Level Layout Artist below:

  • Assemble beautiful looking and beautifully playable multiplayer levels from existing single player art.
  • Trouble-shoot levels and maintain them to stay in frame rate, memory and design spec.
  • Work to quickly integrate existing art assets into multiplayer designs.
  • Use existing art assets to create multiplayer designs, additions, and refinements.

The multiplayer maps in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be based off of the single player levels from the sounds of things. They not only have to look good, but be playable as well. This is a sign that Naughty Dog doesn’t want to make its multiplayer mode feel cheap. They want to make sure the entire game looks and plays great.
