Bandai Namco Japan has released a second trailer of the upcoming Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory, a new turn-based RPG that expands the universe of the original Cyber Sleuth by focusing on the hacker community. The new trailer features some helpful translation in English and presents each of the new characters, including the unnamed protagonist, who is seeking to prove his innocence after being framed for a crime he did not commit.
The rest of main characters are Erika Mishima, Ryuji Mishima, and Chitose Imai. They all have an important part to play in a story set in a near future where the barriers between the real and the digital world have collapsed, prompting the appearance of Digimon everywhere. What’s worse, a new creature known as Arukadhimon has also crossed over to the real world in order to feed on human emotions like fear.
Hacker’s Memory will feature a bigger collection of Digimon than the first game, and will also offer the option to change the appearance of the main hero by purchasing new outfits with money earned through the game. Expect many of these appearances to be related to the franchise’s 20th anniversary.
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory launches for PS4 and PSVita in Japan on December 14, and it’s expected to launch in North America and Europe on early 2018. Check out the content of the Japanese 20th Anniversary Edition, and watch the new trailer below.
