No official word has come out yet if we will ever see a Crash Bandicoot PS4 reboot anytime soon. However, one fan has made a video of what it could look like.
YouTube user Anisotropic is working on an unofficial Crash Bandicoot game rendered in Unreal Engine 4. He has released a couple of videos on what he has been working on and it looks very impressive.
His videos take heavy inspiration from Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. The graphics look very impressive. The animation still needs a bit of work in order for it to look fluid.
For a fan project though, this still looks amazing. Sadly, Activision still owns the rights to the character and is doing nothing with it. The last game featuring the character came out in 2010.
Sony America’s Shawn Layden has expressed interest in the character, but nothing official has happened behind the scenes. Layden is like any normal fan and hopes some sort of reboot might happen in the near future.
It’s sad the character has been forgotten after all these years. He was a huge part of making the PSOne really popular in the ’90s. The series also put Naughty Dog on the map too.
