Xbox One hack method for larger HDD replacement

The Xbox One has only been on the market for a short while, but that hasn’t stopped modders from poking and prodding the new console.  Apparently, a hack has been discovered that allows for tech savvy Xbox One owners to replace their factory HDD with something a little more spacious.

Over the weekend, Team Executer discovered a method where using a handful of tools, you can swap in a new HDD.  You can find the instructions, at this link.   The Xbox One hackers say that you should only use this at your own risk, and it’s likely something that will get your Xbox One banned.

Essentially, the hack involves using a script to insert partitions into a third party drive, which will allow the Xbox One to recognize it.  It definitely doesn’t sound as simple as plugging it in.

While HDD space probably isn’t an issue for most Xbox One users yet, 500GB isn’t likely to last long with the sheer size of games that have been releasing on the console thus far.
