The most recent update for the Xbox One had an unintended feature added to the new console. Some Xbox One owners who got the update are reporting a black screen bug that is altering the video when turning the console on.

Fortunately, there’s both a fix on the way, and a short term fix for the problem. Microsoft says that they are aware of the issue and are working on a solution to the problem. In the meantime, Xbox One owners who get the Black Screen Bug should power cycle the console by holding the power button for 10 seconds.

The update that brought about the Black Screen problems featured a number of different additions to the Xbox One dashboard. The update that released earlier this week is the first of two updates for the Xbox One that are slated to arrive ahead of the release of Titanfall on March 11th.

We’ll have to wait and see if Microsoft issues another update to fix the problem, or if users will need to wait for the next big patch for a permanent fix.
