The Xbox One console specs have drawn some criticism over the past few weeks. When comparing them to the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One appears to be under-powered. According to a Microsoft executive, this isn’t as important as you may be led to believe.

Our games and experiences are going to be better on Xbox One

Albert Penello, a Microsoft executive, explains why comparisons between the Xbox One and PS4 hardware are meaningless.

“The problem is that Sony decided to go out and publish a bunch of numbers, which are in some ways meaningless…This isn’t 1990,” Penello explains. “I’d rather not even have the conversation, because it’s not going to matter. The box is going to be awesome. The games are going to be awesome… people are debating things which they don’t know about.”

“Our games and experiences are going to be every bit as good, if not better, technically – on top of all the magic we’re going to add with the instant switching, and the power of the cloud.”

These technically superior games and experiences are set to arrive this holiday season when the Xbox One launches at $499.
