The DC Cinematic Universe will really get going next March with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with DC having a grand plan of movies to follow. One of the heroes they are looking to give another try is Green Lantern, though it sounds like they may be focusing on more than one of the Earth sector Green Lanterns.
Green Lantern is very different from most heroes in comics, as there are always tons of them at one time, with even the Earth sector having many over the years. The first attempt at a Green Lantern movie had Hal Jordan only as the lead, but he will likely be joined by some friends this time.
We heard rumblings that John Stewart might be the Green Lantern of choice for the DC Cinematic Universe, but it seems that they are going with a multi-hero approach according to a report from Collider.
From what they are hearing, DC and WB are looking to have a focus on “more than one human Green Lantern.” More in detail, they are hearing this could feature Hal Jordan, John Stewart, and Guy Gardner as the three leads. Kyle Rayner was not mentioned at all in the report, so it appears he won’t be involved as a lead at least. It could end up just being two of them, but three is possible supposedly.
San Diego Comic-Con could be a big one this year for DC and WB, with the possibility of numerous casting announcements. Hopefully we can learn who will fill the role of the Green Lanterns in the universe, as one would assume they could show up much earlier than the solo film in the DC Cinematic Universe.
