It seems that fans will not have to worry about another Hal Jordan, Green Lantern movie as a new report indicates that fans will have to cozy up to John Stewart instead.

Earlier today reports came out from Meet The Movie Press Vodcast that Warner Brothers Pictures and DC are looking cast for a John Stewart role in the upcoming Green Lantern movie. This would not only distance itself from the much debated,  2011 Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds, but it would also add diversity to lineup of movies that encompass the Justice League.

John Stewart first made his appearance in the 1970’s fighting alongside Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner. He has been a part of the Green Lantern corps ever since. He was later used as Green Lantern in both the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited animated series’. Hopefully this movie will be able to do the IP justice as fans have been waiting a long time for Green Lantern to properly shine in pop culture outside of cartoons and comics. Who do you think should play John Stewart in the DC Cinematic universe?

Green Lantern is currently scheduled to release June 19th, 2020 so there is plenty of time to decide for Warner Brothers.
