Call of Duty games are among the highest requested titles for backwards compatibility on the Xbox One, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Microsoft revealed a long list of prominent publishers that were on board, except for one notable exclusion in Activision.

Last month, Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption topped the list for most requested backwards compatible title. Though Black Op 2 made a strong push to top the list, it doesn’t look like this is going to happen.

If it was, Activision most certainly would have been included in that list. Furthermore, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg was immediately asked whether or not Call of Duty titles would be backwards compatible and he deferred to asking Activision about that, alluding that they’ve probably opted out.

Microsoft confirmed today that all Xbox One users would be able to access the backwards compatibility library beginning in November 2015.
