Now that EA has revealed Crysis 3 to the world, Crytek’s Cevat Yerli has been speaking freely about the game. Â After trading in the lush jungles of Crysis 1 for an urban jungle in Crysis 2’s New York City setting, fans have seen a mixture of both in the initial reveal of Crysis 3.
Crytek’s Cevat Yerli recently commented on the new look for New York and how it’ll likely make Crysis 3 feel more like the successor to the original Crysis than Crysis 2 did. Â In answering fan questions on Twitter, Yerli explained that the company is definitely taking the franchise back to its roots.
“Crysis 3 will be more a spiritual successor in gameplay to Crysis 1 instead of Crysis 2.”
For those that played the original, Crysis gave players a lot more freedom in its sandbox gameplay than did its sequel. Â With more to come ahead of its 2013 release, we’ll have to wait for more specific details about how Crytek is tweaking the gameplay for Crysis 3.
A first gameplay trailer is due out later this week, on April 24th.
