Gears of War 4, like many games these days, will be getting a season pass when it launches later this year, though the developers have just revealed that it’s getting a big change. While the original season pass was set to offer six Gear Packs, those have now been scrapped for something the developer claims is better.
Developer Coalition Studio’s Rod Fergusson took to Twitter to make the announcement, where he said “FYI We’re upping the value of the Season Pass replacing the 6 Gear Packs with a 17 pack Starter Air Drop.” Considering that the game’s season pass is on the pricier side of things, it’s good to know that we’re getting more content with our money.
Fergusson also provided a breakdown of this Starter Airdrop, saying that the “Starter Airdrop = 17 packs = 5 Horde Boosters, 5 Versus Boosters, 5 Operations Packs and 2 Elite Packs = 85 cards. It’s a sampler platter :).”
Gears of War 4 is set to launch for Xbox One and PC on October 11th, and the season pass costs $50. It is also part of the Play Anywhere program, so purchasing the game digitally on Xbox One will get you a free digital version of the PC version and vice versa.
