Another PS4 exclusive has been delayed until 2017. This time, Sony has delayed Gravity Rush 2 so it won’t be out around the same time as The Last Guardian.
Gravity Rush 2 was initially going to come out on December 2nd, but now it has a new release date of January 20, 2017. The reason given is that the landscape for the game’s release date has changed since July.
Sony posted the following on the PlayStation Blog: “Gravity Rush 2 is the conclusion of Kat’s journey, so we want players to have enough time to dive deep into her story. In addition, as a lot of work went into online features that allow for asynchronous player interaction, we want as many people as possible playing the title at the same time“.
Sony apologizes for the delay, but said this is to ensure the game has been released at the best time. January is a quiet month for game releases, so more people should be playing the game then as opposed to competing with The Last Guardian and Final Fantasy XV.
There’s more good news as the premium DLC will now be released free of charge due to the longer wait. It’s an additional story taking place in the same world.
