Sony has now explained in more detail how they managed to get Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC first on PS4 and PS3.
As announced at E3 2015, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC will be coming first on PS4 and PS3 consoles. PlayStation gamers get the DLC a month earlier than everyone else.
This came as a surprise because Activision usually does this deal with Microsoft and its Xbox platforms. 2015 marks the first time PlayStation consoles get this deal.
Gamespot interviewed Sony’s Adam Boyes to ask him how this deal happened.
Boyes said it all started with Sony’s good relationship with Activision “around Destiny“. Boyes was then invited to Activision to see Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 in person.
Boyes started playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and “fell in love instantly“. Sony and Activision then continued talks and managed to “work something out“. This resulted in DLC coming early on PlayStation consoles plus the upcoming beta.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the third game from Treyarch from the Black Ops sub-series. Many people love the Black Ops games, so it will be interesting to see if this new game lives up to expectations. The zombie mode will be shown at Comic Con in July.
