Konami Reportedly Still Not Giving Up On AAA Video Games

Konami have not announced any new AAA video games lately outside of PES 2017. However, the company’s Western PR continues to say they are still interested in making AAA video games again.

GamingBolt interviewed Steve Merrett who is responsible for Konami’s PR in the UK. They questioned him if the company is still interested in developing AAA video games.

Merrett said: “Well, PES 2017 is coming. If that’s not enough indication that Konami is still interested in the market, then I don’t know what is.”

The website wanted to specifically ask Merrett if a new Metal Gear Solid video game is in the works. Merrett chose not to answer that question and further just mentioned the improvements that they have made with the FOX Engine.

The FOX Engine was used in Metal Gear Solid V and looked great. As of right now, only the PES franchise is using the game engine. It will be a bit of a waste if Konami just uses this game engine on only one franchise.

It would be nice if they allowed other developers to use the engine. Anyway, do you think Konami will ever make a AAA Metal Gear Solid game ever again?
