Earlier today, Twitter user @DroidXAce leaked out documents for officially licensed Nintendo Switch accessories. These products, developed by Hori, include chargers, adapters, and protective cases. But there was one particular product that caught the eye of many people. The “Zelda Breath of the Wild Skin Set” appears to be a promotional accessory for the long awaited Zelda game, but what’s interesting is that the product documents specify that this item will come out in March 2017, perhaps confirming the rumors of the Breath of the Wild release date in March as a Switch launch title.
This item is listed to be priced at an MSRP of $9.99 and comes with a Zelda themed skin set for the Nintendo Switch Dock, Joy-Con, and Joy-Con Grip. Like all the other products in this leak, this is officially licensed by Nintendo adding more credibility to the rumor that Zelda is coming in March.
Something interesting to note is that this is one of the few documents that’s written in English and uses the US dollar while all the others are in French and use the Euro. Perhaps evidence to support the idea that the Breath of the Wild release for North America is in March but delayed to a later date for Europe.
That being said, there are a few other Breath of the Wild items in the list such as a case protector and a set of accessories that use the Euro, but none of them have a release date like the English skin set.
Take note, however, that one of the first leaked images state that all the documents are still working concepts and that several aspects such as their retail price and, more importantly, release date are still subject to change. So there’s a chance that Hori might be assuming the release date like the rest of us. But given all the recent rumors about the March release of the game as well as this new leak, it seems highly likely that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild release is this March.
The rest of the leaked documents and other Switch accessories can be found in this NeoGAF thread.
