Metal Gear Survive Will Not Be A $60 Game

Konami recently made the surprise announcement that there will be a new game released in the Metal Gear series, but definitely not one that fans were expecting. The game is a co-op survival game set after the events of Ground Zeroes, and takes things in a decidedly different direction.

While not many have been all too thrilled about the next entry in the series being a co-op survival game, it seems like this isn’t going to be a major release along the same lines as The Phantom Pain. This has been made all the more apparent during Gamescom, where it was revealed that it will not be a $60 game.

While en exact price for the game was not listed, they did say that it was expected that the game would launch for around the price as Ground Zeroes did during its launch. That game launched for $30 at the time (controversially due to the lack of content), though that was just a setup for the main game that followed next year.

In a post-Kojima world, it’s good to know that they aren’t going to immediately ruin the main story by going straight into Metal Gear Solid 6, but the quality of this product is anybody’s guess at this point. Metal Gear Survive is set to launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2017.
