Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire released last November and have been receiving a steady stream amount of content over the last year through various event distributions. The two big legendaries in the two were Groudon and Kyogre, but now the third of the 3rd-gen legendary trio is here and shinier than ever.

Completely out of the blue, a new distribution event has started exclusively for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire for Shiny Rayquaza. Rather than a bright green design, the shiny form of Rayquaza is a sleek black with red and yellow markings.

As always, getting the event Pokemon is very easy. Simply go to the menu before loading up the game and choose Mystery Gift. Then choose to Receive Gift, followed by Get Via Internet, and finally Yes.

After you go through that process, you will have Rayquaza in your game, but you must pick it up still. Load up your game and go to any Pokemon Center and find the delivery person. Just make sure you have an empty spot in your party before hand though.

This event was already done in Australia through an in-store giveaway, but Shiny Rayquaza is a nice surprise for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire owners in the US for sure. According to Serebii, it will also be coming to other regions in the coming weeks, with the UK distribution coming in Smyths stores August 24 through September 20, and then Germany coming August 31 through September 28 at an unknown retailer. Other regions have yet to announce their distribution plans at this time.
