Sony might be slowly killing off the PS Vita as it sounds like no new stock of the console is being sold at several retailers in The Netherlands. Is this an early sign that the end is near?
This reports comes from the website Tweakers which is from The Netherlands. The website talked to many retailers from the country and many of them replied back claiming that no new stock for the PS Vita is arriving.
Tweakers contacted their local Sony spokesperson and all they replied back was “nothing to report“. They provided no further comment on the matter. They didn’t deny the report, so this could mean the PS Vita is slowly dying out in the region.
The PS Vita sadly never got a chance to shine as it came out too late in a market where people play games on smartphones and tablets. The Nintendo 3DS managed to survive thanks to its strong library of first party games, but Sony didn’t support the Vita for that long.
Tweakers notes that the portable console is still available to buy in other countries in Europe such as Germany, France and England. It’s possible Sony is just stopping support in smaller countries first before ending the system entirely worldwide.
