The first Titanfall game was not on the PS4 thanks to an exclusive deal with Microsoft. Titanfall 2 will be out on the PS4 and the developer has explained why.

Respawn Entertainment’s CEO, Vince Zampella, explains why Titanfall 2 is out on more platforms during a new interview with OPM UK magazine.

He said: “Ultimately, it’s about bringing in as many people as possible to play the game. We spent years of our lives making these things, so we want as many people as possible to see them. It makes sense. We want playerbase so the games are more fun and more balanced, we want to get better games going, but it’s also just…this is all about the fans. It’s bringing things to the world that people enjoy, so the more the merrier.”

The first Titanfall game was a learning curve for Respawn Entertainment and their publisher EA. At the time of the game’s release, they didn’t anticipate that the PS4 would be the more popular console. Not to mention the game lacked a single player campaign.

Titanfall 2 should be more popular since there are more PS4 owners out there and the game also includes the much demanded single player campaign.
