Rockstar Renews Its Trademark For Agent

Agent is a video game that has been on Rockstar’s back-burner for a very long time now. It appears Rockstar is not giving up the name for the game as it has filed to extend the trademark earlier this month.

As you can see from the official United States Patent and Trademark Office website (via NeoGAF), Rockstar filed for an extension for Agent as recent as June 1st, 2016.

Rockstar has renewed the trademark several times over the past couple of years so it could mean nothing. However, last year’s E3 2015 event gave us the likes of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Shenmue 3 so we cannot rule out anything at this point.

Agent was announced several years ago to be a PS3 exclusive and was going to be an action/stealth video game set during the Cold War. There has been no evidence of the game getting revived, but Rockstar has not come out and said that it has been cancelled yet.

At this point, it’s more likely Rockstar will be announcing Red Dead Redemption 2 than re-revealing Agent. A sequel to Red Dead Redemption is a safer bet for Rockstar as that game sold millions of copies back in 2010.
