The Australian Classification Board has now rated Watch Dogs 2. It has the same rating as the first game got when it came out two years ago.
Watch Dogs 2 received the MA15+ rating which means the game is restricted to people over the ages of 15 and up. The consumer advice info says: “Strong themes, violence, coarse language and nudity, online interactivity“.
The game has strong impact on themes, violence and language. This is to be expected since most open-world video games that focus on crime are known to have this sort of content. It doesn’t stop there as the game has moderate impact on drug use, nudity and also sex.
Even though the sequel has the MA15+ rating the first game got, it appears the newer game has more mature content as a whole. The first game only had a moderate impact on language and mild impact on drug use. This tells us the second game has a lot more swear words and drugs.
Watch Dogs 2 has yet to be rated by Europe’s ESRB, so we will have to wait a few more weeks for additional details about the full content of the game. It’s not that long until the game is released for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 15th, 2016.
