The Xbox One Preview Program has proven to be pretty popular among owners of the console, but apparently it’s been so popular that Microsoft is nearing capacity.  A discussion on the Xbox Forums reveals that Microsoft is lowering acceptance rates for the preview program.

Discovered on NeoGAF, a forum post by official Xbox staff reads:

“Due to tremendous response from our fans, the Xbox Preview program has reached a near capacity level.  With that in mind, we are slowing the number of new people we are accepting to optimize for testing.  We are thankful for the amount of interest we’ve received to date and look forward to sharing more details on preview opportunities soon.”

The Xbox Preview Program has likely gotten a boost in popularity recently.  Preview members are the only ones that are able to test backwards compatibility features on the console.  Perhaps this popularity will die down in the months ahead as Microsoft plans to roll-out the feature for everyone.

Though Preview Program participants still receive system updates more regularly, and are able to test out new features on the console weeks ahead of everyone else.
