The long wait for Skyrim DLC on the PS3 is coming to an end.  Bethesda has just announced that the Dragonborn expansion for the RPG will arrive on PlayStation 3 and PC in early February.  To make amends for the long wait for PS3 players, Bethesda is offering the content at a discount, 50% off for the first week to be exact.

The company says that the while the Dragonborn expansion will arrive in February, the Hearthfire and Dawnguard content will also arrive later in the month.  That means February will be a good month to return to the land of Skyrim on the cheap.  No official release date was given for the content’s arrival, but Bethesda says finalization of the release dates is imminent.

PC players will also get their first crack at the Dragonborn expansion next month as well.  On February 5th, the new content will arrive on Steam.  Sorry PC players, no discounts for you, you’ve haven’t had the long and grueling wait that PlayStation 3 Skyrim players have had.

Following its launch, the wait for Skyrim DLC was a long one for all platforms, but PlayStation 3 players especially.  Bethesda reportedly encountered numerous problems in the development process that made getting the new content to work on the platform an issue.   It looks like they’ve finally fixed the problems they were encountering, and at least the content is finally arriving on the console.  Bethesda had said they weren’t sure if the DLC would ever arrive on the platform.
