This beauty influencer was on a casual livestream, but a minor filter glitch triggered around 140K unfollows

The influencer's followers were done with her!

In the world of beauty influencers, we often come across bizarre stories where some of them are caught using clever techniques to enhance their appearance. While minor procedures are somewhat tolerable, things can get a little out of hand if these personalities are going through a full-on transformation, misleading their audience. A similar sort of incident happened to a Chinese influencer, who ended up losing around 140,000 followers as an aftermath.

Following a controversy where a white influencer swapped in a black influencer’s body with the help of AI, we have another odd story that involves a questionable technique to change their aesthetics. As reported by the New York Post, a Chinese influencer was casually livestreaming with her fans while using a filter to enhance her appearance. This is something that almost everyone has done to boost presentability, as sometimes low light can affect the quality of the image.

For this influencer, this wasn’t the motive. In the livestream footage that went viral on TikTok and other social media platforms, the filter she was using vanished due to a glitch. As a result, her real appearance was exposed to her audience, which was quite different in comparison to what the beauty filter was showing. The unnamed influencer didn’t get away with this glitch, as 140,000 followers said farewell to her after the incident.

140K followers are a huge loss for any influencer!

A 140,000-follower worth of damage may have caused quite a dent to her content creation career, but it looks like fans may have left because they were misled and not because of her real appearance. The New York Post also mentions some of the influencer’s audience speaking in her defense. One of them said, “She’s literally so beautiful I can’t, I’m so mad for her lmfao.”

Another said, “I think she’s so much more prettier than the filter, the filter looks lifeless.” This positivity from her followers suggests that they were seemingly following her for her natural beauty, and some preferred her actual face instead of the digital mask she was using for social media.

Apart from this case, we often hear about similar influencers getting backlash for the tricks they were using to make them seem different. However, a 140K followers of loss seems to be drawing from a complete transformation, which wasn’t limited to just skin tone or facial features. We have heard about influencers going for weird stuff, such as a free bodily fluid, to enhance their glow, but it looks like reworking your facial features digitally seems to get a little too far with this news.

The unnamed influencer hasn’t confirmed the 140K followers loss, but many sources are mentioning the same amount. As things stand, regaining this amount still seems possible if she takes a fresh start with her natural look.
