Bethesda has just released a new update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, taking it to 1.9 and “Legendary” status. Well the Legendary part is just the new difficulty setting that is included in the update, which should help with the mundane task of combat when your character has seen two years of leveling.
The update also features Legendary skills, which give players the option to reset maxed skills to level 15. There’s variety of bugs and fixes that have been added in the update, and you can find the full list at the BethBlog.
Skyrim Update 1.9 is in beta on Steam, and can be downloaded via your Steam library, assuming that you are opted-in to be a beta tester for the game. Recent changes on Steam have altered the way that this is done. To opt-in for the Skyrim update beta you’ll right click on the The Elder Scrolls V game through the Steam library. Then select properties, you’ll then need to select the beta tab and opt-in using the beta dropbox.
Right now it looks like this is a PC-only update for Skyrim. Bethesda gives no word on whether these fixes and Legendary features will be arriving on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
