Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson is understandably feeling the pressure of making his follow-up game a hit. In recently published article on The New Yorker, Persson expressed the pressure of making his next game.

There’s no way you could replicate it intentionally

“I definitely think Minecraft is a freak thing,” said Persson of Minecraft which has recently seen sales soaring over 20 million copies across all platforms. “There’s no way you could replicate it intentionally. And yes, I’m starting to feel writer’s block as a result. I’m not sure if it’s pressure to repeat. And with Minecraft it was just easier, because nobody knew who I was.”

While Notch has long left Minecraft behind on the development front, his next game ox10c is currently in development. Development on this new game had recently been reported as stalled, due to these creative blocks that the Minecraft creator is facing.
