According to numerous sources, Microsoft might be rethinking their strategy for the Xbox One. Â Following a lukewarm reception at E3 2013, it’s being reported that the company is considering doing a 180 on their DRM, used game, and other controversial features. Â The company who has been struggling with their message about the new console is reportedly feeling the heat from Sony.
The combination of Microsoft’s mishandling of their marketing message and the physical restrictions that the company has announced, has many would be purchasers completely discounting the system as a next-generation option.

Reports from whathifi and Giant Bomb are both reporting that Microsoft will soon reveal the changes to their strategy.
It’s unclear if these reports are based in opinion, but in the case of Giant Bomb’s claims, Patrick Klepek says “Could I be wrong? Yes. But I don’t publish stuff like this very often,” via Twitter.
Hopefully this doesn’t pan out to be another let down for fans hoping that Microsoft launches the Xbox One with less restrictive features. Â While the reality of the next-gen is beginning to set in for many, it’ll be a rough PR statement that explains why they company has no plans to change their announced features for the system.
