If you became familiar with the voices in the Tekken series, you’ll be happy to know that Bandai Namco plans to still keep most of them for Tekken 7.
Tekken 7 director Katsuhiro Harada shared a few details on their plans for the voice actors for the new game on twitter:
“Japanese voice actor = same. Others = probably same but some voice actor will change contract or quit job.”
It sounds like most (if not all) of the Japanese voice actors will return for Tekken 7. As for the English voice actors, that depends if they’re available or not. Don’t be surprised if your favorite fighter has a different voice as the original actor may have left.
The Tekken series usually has a multilingual voice cast. Most of the Japanese characters still speak in Japanese while the Western characters all speak English. It is interesting to note that Kazuya Mishima had an English voice during the teaser trailer for Tekken 7. The same goes for his mother Kazumi as well.
This might be a sign that Bandai Namco could be introducing English voices to every character in Tekken 7. That is of course for the Western release of the game. In the past as aforementioned, the Japanese characters retained their Japanese voice actors even for the Western versions.
