If you have a lot of PSP games and/or movies you want to get rid of, you better rush to Gamestop soon as the retailer is stopping trade-ins starting next month.
A NeoGAF poster noticed his local Gamestop store put up a sign saying they are no longer accepting PSP UMDs. September 1st is when you can no longer trade-in PSP games and movies. You will have to put up your collection up on eBay or something if you cannot trade them at Gamestop.
Bear in mind, this may not be relevant to every Gamestop store. Some stores have already got rid of their PSP section while another NeoGAF user noted his local store already weren’t accepting anything for the PSP.
This might be a good time for PSP collectors though. Gamestop might be willing to get rid of all their stock so they might discount a lot of the games they already have. If you’re searching for that one PSP game you never got, your local Gamestop could be selling it at a cheap price.
The PSP itself lasted a good time. The console was released in 2005 for Western countries. At last count, over 80 million consoles were sold. Too bad the PS Vita never got as popular as the PSP did.
