Grand Theft Auto V Remastered’s ESRB Rating Summary Analyzed

The ESRB rating summary for Grand Theft Auto V for the PS4 and Xbox One has now been revealed showcasing some subtle new additions not seen in the original PS3/Xbox 360 versions.

DualShockers has analyzed both ESRB rating summaries for Grand Theft Auto V. The PS4/Xbox One versions add some new features, while one element from the PS3/Xbox 360 versions has been removed completely.

In the ESRB rating summary for Grand Theft Auto on PS3/Xbox 360, there was a “brief instance of necrophilia (no nudity is depicted)“. It looks like any mention of necrophilia has been removed for the PS4/Xbox One version of the game. This is the only thing that looks like that has been removed. Nothing that would concern many gamers.

Some of the descriptions on the ESRB rating summary for the PS4/Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V sound very interesting. The following descriptions never appeared on the PS3/Xbox 360 versions of the game.

First of all, you can now see “various sex acts (sometimes from a close-up perspective)”. The close-up perspective could be referring to the all-new FPS mode that has been added in Grand Theft Auto V.

Other descriptions the ESRB added to Grand Theft Auto V is that there are “caricatures of ethnic/racial groups” and “hallucinating from peyote“. These additions may have already been in the original PS3/Xbox 360 versions, but were missed by the ESRB last year in their summary for the game.
