Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the biggest launch for any entertainment product for the year of 2014.

Activision sent out a press release touting the success of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. It announced the game as the biggest entertainment launch of the year, although no specific sales data was shared. Call of Duty: Ghosts lost out the biggest launch for 2013 thanks to the release of Grand Theft Auto V that year.

Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg says that “sales and engagement” for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare are up compared to the first week of last year. He also said that sales of the Season Pass are also up and the game has been well received by its fans and critics. He also believes that the game is the “most successful” game of 2014.

According to results from Xbox Live and PSN, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is also the highest selling digital launch in console gaming history. This shows that a number of gamers are starting to go digital as opposed to buying the game from a physical store now.

Thanks to the release of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, sales for the entire Call of Duty series has now surpassed over $10 billion in sales.
