2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios have announced that their upcoming 4v1 shooter game Evolve has gone gold ahead of its February launch. This means the main work of getting the game ready is all done and actual discs are being pressed with the final code for the game. This is a great sign that the game will launch in a more stable state than other AAA titles we’ve seen lately as the team has completed enough to feel confident at this point. To celebrate this event the team has released a new trailer that contains the game’s intro cinematic, which can be seen below.

We’re happy to announce that Evolve has “Gone Gold.”

Evolve is set to release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 10th, 2015. This means the team has completed development over a month ahead of launch time. This is likely thanks to the delay the game received last year, pushing it from a November 2014 release date into the now-current year. However, the team isn’t done with the game just yet. Work will continue on Evolve’s future DLC, including a fourth monster which has been promised to arrive some time after launch.

If you want to get a taste of the game before that there is the Open Beta, which begins next week. However, the Beta is only open for players on the Xbox One, with PS4 and PC gamers having to be previously selected.
