“More info coming soon!” — one of the most quietly infuriating phrases in the English language, and one that we find ourselves often dealing with when it comes to gaming. Especially with something as enjoyable as Don’t Starve, it’s hard not channel the aptly named Veruca Salt: “I don’t care how, I want it now!”
Klei Entertainment have revealed an upcoming single player expansion to Don’t Starve, called Shipwrecked. Accompanying the announcement on Steam is a trailer that’s every bit reticent as the announcement itself.
Klei Entertainment has partnered with our friends at Capy, creators of Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery, Super Time Force and Below; to bring fans of Don’t Starve the latest single-player expansion: Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked!
With new playable characters, biomes, creatures and seasonal effects; Wilson and the whole Don’t Starve cast of characters embark on a sea-bound journey of exploration, adaptation and of course, starvation.
To celebrate the announcement of Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked, the game and its DLC are discounted by up to fifty percent for the duration of the weekend. If you’ve never played before, the co-op edition, Don’t Starve Together, allows you to team up with a friend to pit yourself against both madness and the wilderness and is an excellent point of entry.
Like the game’s other expansions, Reign of Giants and Don’t Starve Together, Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked will be available for PC, Mac and Linux.
It is expected to be released this fall.
