After many weeks of silence on the matter WB Games and Rocksteady have revealed details on the promised Fall Batman: Arkham Knight PC patch which will arrive in the next few weeks. Batman: Arkham Knight launched back in June to high acclaim and huge sales. However, the PC version of the highly popular action game was marred by serious technical issues and glitches. Many even showed that, despite running on more capable hardware, Arkham Knight looked markedly worse on PC than PS4 and Xbox One.
Eventually the game was even pulled from retailers, making it so no one could actually purchase a new copy of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. Patches were promised to be coming, with the team saying that getting it fixed was a top priority. Now, a couple months later, that patch is just around the corner.
What will the PC patch actually fix? Lot’s of stuff apparently.
- Reduced frame rate hitches
- Optimized system memory and VRAM usage
- Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers)
- Min Spec AMD GPU is once again the Radeon HD 7870 2GB
- More Robust In-Game Settings, including
- Added the ability to change settings for Max FPS to 30/60/90
- Added toggles for Motion Blur, Chromatic Aberration, and Film Grain
- Added a “High” Texture Resolution value
- Added Texture Filtering option
- Added an Adaptive V-Sync option (NVIDIA only)
- Added VRAM Usage Meter
- Added Mouse Sensitivity Slider & Mouse Smoothing Option
- Fixed low resolution texture bugs
- Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)
This isn’t all that the team at WB Games and Rocksteady are working on. Skipping intro cutscenes, DLC, and a Photo Mode will be coming in the future.
