Sony has now released update 4.76 for the PS3 console. It is available to download right now.
PS3 update 4.76 requires 200MB of space and is available right now. The patch note says the only thing that it adds is system software stability and nothing else more.
You may have to download and install this update first if you want to visit the PlayStation Store or are going to play online. 200MB is not that large so you won’t have to wait too long for it to be installed on your system.
It will be interesting to see how much longer Sony will continue to support the PS3. The console is still used by a large group of people, although many gamers are starting to migrate to the newer PS4 console already.
Developers and publishers seem to be abandoning the PS3 already. It wasn’t too long ago that Warner Bros. decided to cancel the last-gen version of Mortal Kombat X because it wasn’t up to par with the current-gen version.
Not to mention many of Sony’s upcoming games will be PS4 exclusives. The likes of The Last Guardian and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End are PS4 exclusives.
