Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be released for the PS3 in Japan just in time before Christmas.
As reported by Famitsu, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be released in Japan for the PS3 on December 17th. This release is different from the one featured as PS2 Classics.
This version of the game has been slightly updated. It has a resolution of 720p offering better draw distance and improvements to lighting. There will also be trophy support as well so completionists have an incentive to play the whole game all over again.
This release sounds similar to how Rockstar re-released the game on the Xbox 360 not too long ago. It’s an updated version of the game, but not a remaster and definitely not a remake either.
It’s possible Rockstar should have an official announcement for the game to arrive in countries outside of Japan too. If you are one of the few people that have yet to play the game, now is your chance to play it.
Bear in mind, the original game was released back in 2004 so the game mechanics feel really old playing it now. However, might be a cool Christmas gift if you know somebody that still plays on the PS3.
