A new job listing from Visceral Games may have revealed some potential features for the Star Wars game that they have been working on so far.
EA has yet to announce the type of Star Wars game that Visceral is developing, but the studio is currently still hiring for the big project. AÂ job description for a position advertised gives us some clues on the type of game they are trying to make.
On Visceral’s career website, they are currently looking for a Senior Systems Designer. This is an important job as it sounds like this position will be responsible for implementing the game mechanics.
The job description says: “Bring your system game design skills and savvy and you love of Star Wars to Visceral Games, embracing and contributing to the project visions in areas of hero control/mechanics, AI behaviours, combat/weapons, class designs, skills/progressions, enemy design, story and boss encounters.”
Unlike Star Wars Battlefront, it sounds like this game will feature a story and bosses. It also suggests this game will have multiple classes and skills. This description heavily suggests this could be an action-RPG of some kind.
Further down the job description, it says the candidate should have experience in third-person action games before. It also mentions you need experience in systems like “tools/upgrades, economy, balance, testing, etc.”
Hopefully EA and Visceral will show something about this new Star Wars game in 2016.
