Considering that just about every game is re-released these days whether the re-release is warranted or not, it’s safe to say that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a re-release that would do extremely well if it came packed with improved gameplay and additional content. While there were rumors suggesting that such a game was on the way, the developers have come out to shut down everyone’s hopes.
CD Projekt Red came out to let everyone know that the rumored The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Enhanced Edition that was listed as releasing next month by French retailer e-leclerc is not actually happening. “There’s no Enhanced Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that we are aware of, this is some kind of error that we will look into,” said the developers on the game’s official forum.
The Witcher 3 still has one more expansion in the works called Blood and Wine, which is set to conclude the story of Geralt. The expansion is set to launch in the first half of this year, though official details regarding a release date have not yet been revealed.
Even though the devs have come out to shoot down these rumors doesn’t mean that some sort of enhanced or ultimate edition won’t come out at some point down the road. Considering that both The Witcher 1 and 2 both received enhanced editions would certainly make some expect that the 3rd game would receive the same treatment.
