The Division beta dates and details for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC were finally confirmed Friday following rumors and a brief tease yesterday. As expected, Xbox One owners will gain access to the closed beta a day early followed by the other two platforms. Nobody should expect it to last long though.
Xbox One owners will receive The Division closed beta first on January 28. PS4 and PC gamers will be able to jump in 24 hours later. However, the beta only last until January 31. That means four days for Microsoft’s console and only three days of play for the other platforms.
Here is what will be in the beta according to Ubisoft’s announcement.
“Beginning on Manhattan’s Chelsea Pier, the beta will take you through early story-driven missions that establish your foothold in New York. You’ll team up with other agents to battle for loot and outwit other agents in the PvP-enabled Dark Zone.”
Those interested in The Division beta can sign up for a chance to get in on the game’s website. You can guarantee access though by pre-ordering the shooter from retailers such as Amazon and Best Buy.
The length of the beta suggests this is most a crash test for the game’s servers to ensure they can handle the player load at launch and work out any kinks. It should be interesting to see how it shakes out.
The Division is set for a March 8 release.
