Sony announced earlier this week that it is holding a beta test for the PS4 system software update 3.5. It appears an exact release date has now been revealed on when the beta will start.
Game analyst, Tidux (who has been reliable in the past), tweeted out: “FW 3,5 will go live for beta testers after a maintenance on 3 of March. #PS4”
Sony only announced the beta will take place in March but gave no exact date. If Tidux’s tweet turns out to be true, those that have been picked to be a part of the beta should bookmark their calendars for March 3rd, 2016.
PS4 update 3.5 is expected to add even more new features to the console. This upcoming beta test should give us an idea on what Sony is planning.
Sony did a survey a while back to ask what features fans would love to see in future PS4 updates. Actual backwards compatibility has been high on the list, but we’re not sure if Sony is interested in doing that yet.
The only ‘alternatives’ are PlayStation Now and the PS2 re-releases. Both options still cost money which is annoying for gamers that still have a big back catalog of old PlayStation games.
