Rock Band 4 was a nice return to form for the long dead series of rhythm games. However, many fans felt left out of all the fun as it only released on PS4 and Xbox One last year. Many wondered if Rock Band 4 PC could ever be released, with fears of low sales and music piracy causing issues for Harmonix. It seems that those fears have mostly been done away with though, as the developer has announced their intention to bring Rock Band 4 to PC, but they’ll need some help from the community to do it.

A new crowdfunding campaign has been launched for Rock Band 4 PC, forgoing Kickstarter to utilize the gaming-centric Fig platform. Fans can put their money where their mouth is, funding the game, while getting some rewards for themselves, including copies of the game. After only an hour or two the project has already made over $59,000 of its $1,500,000 goal, from just about 150 backers.

This Fig campaign isn’t just for Rock Band 4 PC though, as it will also help bring back the Rock Ban Network. Steam Workshop will allow the feature to make a return, letting players modify and make their own tracks for the game.

Harmonix has said that without this campaign Rock Band 4 PC simply would not be made, so it will be interesting to see how this all shakes out. The PC version will be totally up-to-date with its console brethren, bringing with it all the updates that have been released so far. Current rewards and backing levels range from $10 all the way up to $25,000, so there are plenty of choices as far as how much to invest. And with Fig, backers can actually invest in the game itself, becoming partners and actually sharing in the revenue if the game does well.

Rock Band 4 PC is expected late in 2016 if this campaign hits its goal.
