The first expansion pack for EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront has an official release date and price. GameStop lists the expansion ‘Outer Rim’ for $14.99, with a release date of April 5th. For those who purchased the season pass for Star Wars: Battlefront will get every expansion two-weeks ahead of everyone, a pretty cool perk! So that means the ‘Outer Rim’ expansion should come out roughly on March 22nd, only a short two weeks from now!

This Outer Rim expansion pack for Battlefront will include two new multiplayer maps; one on a smelting factory on Sullust and the other inside Jabba’s throne room—and on his sail barge on Tatooine. Two new weapons will also be available to use, the Relby V-10 rifle and DT-12 blaster pistol. As well as three new star cards to equip, the Scatter Gun, Dioxis Grenade, and Adrenaline Stim. New hero characters will also be introduced with this expansion, both Greedo and Nien Nunb will be playable. Finally, a new game mode Extraction will have players bringing valuable shipment back to their transport ship, with The Empire trying to stop you before you reach the extraction point. Once the Outer Rim expansion is released, the level cap will jump to 60.

Three more expansions for Star Wars: Battlefront are planned, with Outer Rim kicking off the season pass for the game. Three of the four expansions will be coming out this year, with the last one planned for early 2017. We can fully expect to see more maps, modes, heroes, and weapons introduced. Hopefully we can get Obi-Wan as a playable hero!
