The next couple of mobile games that Nintendo will be releasing will be from the Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem series, and it has now been revealed that both games will utilize the free-to-play model of many other mobile games.
DeNA Chief Executive Isao Moriyasu recently spoke with the Wall Street Journal about the two games, saying that both will be “free-to-start apps.” What this means is the games are free to download and get going in, but will offer in-app purchases for those looking to speed up progress or get extra content.
Unfortunately, no other information was released regarding either of the mobile apps, though they are expected to launch by this Fall.
Nintendo’s first shot at the mobile gaming scene was with this year’s Miitomo, which functions as a social app where you can interact with others and customize your Mii with new accessories. The app has done incredibly well so far, surpassing 10 million users worldwide as of the end of last month.
