Star Wars Battlefront 2 (or whatever it will be called) won’t be out until late 2017. Amazon UK has jumped the gun and already put up a listing for it.
Not only has a listing been created for Star Wars Battlefront 2, but you can already pre-order it. It costs £59.99 and you can order it for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. No additional information was given other than a placeholder cover for the game.
A sequel to Star Wars Battlefront was already confirmed by EA a few weeks ago and they promise that it will feature content from the newer movies. EA also hinted it will have some game modes that were missing from the first game.
Whether or not the game will actually be called Battlefront 2 remains to be seen. The 2004 video game was already called Star Wars Battlefront while its sequel in 2005 was called Star Wars Battlefront 2. EA and DICE should come up with a unique name or else it would confuse everyone.
The first Battlefront game from EA and DICE is still being supported with at least two more paid expansions left to be released. It will only feature content from the original trilogy though so don’t expect Kylo Ren to show up until the sequel comes out.
