Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Reportedly Won’t Be Ready For Nintendo Switch Launch

While there’s still a lot that we don’t know about the upcoming Nintendo Switch, one thing that many have known for a long time now is that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be one of its earliest games. However, despite many assuming that the game would be a launch title for the console following its most recent delay, it’s currently looking like that will no longer be the case.

This has been revealed by the very reliable Nintendo insider Emily Rogers, who has gone on record saying that the heavier localisation work required than was initially anticipated is the cause for the delay. She claims that her sources say that localization likely won’t be finished until the end of this December, then adding that the game will need (at least) an additional four-to-six months of testing.

Eurogamer also adds that they have been informed of the same schedule that Rogers claimed, while also adding that they’ve heard that the new Mario game will instead be the console’s major launch title.

Seeing as this news isn’t the official word from Nintendo means we have to take this with a grain of salt, but considering the sources at work here it’s looking like this will turn out to be true.

Nintendo Switch is set to launch in March of next year, though it won’t be until early next year when we learn of the console’s specific release date, price and specs.
